De to tromsøbosatte kunstnerne Mihály Stefanovicz og Anne Lindgaard Møller deler studio på Tromskysten Fylkeskultursenter, og de deler også en fascinasjon for prosesser som er basert på utstrekning i tid. Utstillingen 'Watch the Weather Change' berører forskjellige idéer om og forskjellige opplevelser av, tiden.

Soltegninger

I soltegninger er sollys og tid innbyrdes avhengige. I utstillingen 'Watch the Weather Change' har Anne samarbeidet med fem lokale altaværinger. I flere måneder har blått papir hengt i vinduer i forskjellige hjem i Alta hvor det har brukt det lokale sollyset som medium for å lage bilder. Arbeidet er en poetisk undersøkelse gjennom å fange ‘det flyktige’, og det relaterer seg også til den vitenskapelige metoden for datainnsamling; soltegningene har blitt utsatt for det lokale været, og blitt berørt og preget av de atmosfæriske forholdene. Sporene har satt seg i papiret, og minner oss på det vårt det gjensidige forholdet mellom oss og naturen, hvordan vi blir påvirket av og hvordan vi er den som påvirker.
Kunstneren vil gjerne takke Marit Bjerkeng, Mari Bottolfsen, Aaron Feicht, Mette Skipperud og Anita Veiseth for deres bidrag til prosjektet.

«Nothing evokes the end of the world more than a man running straight ahead on a beach, swathed in the sounds of his walkman . . . Primitives, when in despair, would commit suicide by swimming out to sea until they could swim no longer. The jogger commits suicide by running up and down the beach. His eyes are wild, saliva drips from his mouth. Do not stop him.»
Document_Live ! er en performance/ en iscenesatt video av Mihály Stefanovicz i samarbeid med kunstner Thor Birkedal som vil sette lyd til Mihálys arbeid. Dette verket er det siste tilskuddet i serien Document Cycle som Stefanovicz har jobbet med siden 2018. Videoserien, som ofte involverer langdistanseløpere, består av uklipte opptak som speiler tiden som går i sanntid.

Mihály Stefanovicz (f. 1991, Ungarn). Mihálys praksis er hovedsakelig basert på foto og video, og et av hans viktigste kunstneriske tema er gjentakelse. Hans arbeider tar form av flerkanals videoinstallasjoner, korte videoverk, performance og publikasjoner. Stefanovicz er utdannet studiofotograf, noe som fremdeles er til stede i hans arbeider, da han ofte anvender seg av iscenesatte scenarier. Etter hvert forlot han studioet og begynt å eksperimentere med en handlingsbasert tilnærming: Han deltok i en vandringsperformance i en måned, tok daglige selvportretter i en fotoboks, fotograferte passerende fly med telefonen sin i ett år. Til slutt ble kameraet kun et dokumentasjonsverktøy. I det siste har han jobbet med uklipte langvarige videoer av ultramaratonløpere. Etter en kort periode i München (G) og Portsmouth (GB) i 2011, bosatte han seg i Haag (H) i åtte år hvor han fullførte sin bachelor i fotografi ved Royal Academy of Art. I 2018 flyttet han til Norge for å studere på Kunstakademiet i Tromsø, hvor han tok MA i 2020. For tiden bor og jobber han i Tromsø.

Anne Lindgaard Møller (f. 1991 i Mørke, Danmark) er en billedkunstner som bor og arbeider i Tromsø. Arbeidene hennes er ofte stedsspesifikke ved at de tar utgangspunkt i materialiteten og/eller historien til bestemte steder. Prosess og transformasjon er viktige elementer i hennes praksis så vel som språk og historiefortelling. Arbeidene hennes er kontekstbasert og manifesterer seg i installasjoner sammensatt av levende bilder, fotografier, tekst og skulpturer. Anne ble uteksaminert fra Kunstakademiet i Tromsø med MA i samtidskunst i 2020. Hun tok sin BA på Valand Academy (Göteborg, Sverige) og har også gjennomført utvekslingsstudier ved Malmö Art Academy (Sverige).
Utstillingen er kuratert av Inger Emilie Solheim. Den har mottatt støtte av Norsk kulturråd og Norske Kunstforeninger.
WATCH THE WEATHER CHANGE
Mihály and Anne share a studio and a common fascination for processes based on extended durations. The exhibition ‘Watch the Weather Change’ will provide an insight into the two artists’ practices which both touches upon different ideas and experiences of time.

Document_Live ! is a performance/staged video recording by Mihály Stefanovicz in collaboration with Thor Birkedal. It is the most recent addition to Document Cycle which Stefanovicz have been working with since 2018. The cycle comprises uncut video works which aim to represent real-time duration, and often revolves around long distance runners as protagonists.
The performance will take place in the premises of the kunstforening and will simultaneously be live streamed in AMFI, Alta.
Sun drawings

In Sun drawings, sunlight and time are interdependently linked. For Watch the weather change Anne has collaborated with five local residents. For several months blue papers have been hanging in the windows of homes in Alta using the incoming sunlight as a tool to make images. The work is a poetic investigation into the act of catching the ephemeral but also relates to the scientific method of data collection; the sun drawings have been exposed to the local weather, and been touched and marked by the atmospheric conditions. The traces have stuck to the paper, wanting to remind us of the mutual relationship between us and nature, being affected by and being the one affecting.

Mihály Stefanovicz (b. 1991, Hungary) is a visual artist. His practice is predominantly based upon photo imagery and video work. Repetition serves as his main artistic theme. His work manifests in multi-channel video installations, short video works, performances and in printed matter. Stefanovicz was trained in the craft of studio photography, which is still present in his pieces as he often relies on staged scenarios. Eventually he had given up studio work and begun to experiment with an action based approach: He engaged in a walking performance for a month non-stop, -took self portraits in a photo booth daily, -kept photographing passing aeroplanes with his phone for a year. Eventually he reduced the camera to be solely a tool of documentation. Most recently he is working on uncut long duration videos of ultra runners. After a short period spent in Munich (G) and Portsmouth (GB) in 2011 Stefanovicz settled in The Hague (H) for eight years where he completed his bachelor of photography at Royal Academy of Art. In 2018 he moved to Norway and enrolled at Tromsø Academy of Contemporary Art, where he gained his MA in 2020. Currently he lives and works at Tromsø.
Anne Lindgaard Møller (b. 1991 in Mørke, Denmark) is a visual artist who lives and works in Tromsø. Her works are often site-responsive and take their point of departure in the materiality and/or history of specific places. Process and transformation are important elements in her practice as well as language and storytelling. The shaping of her works is context-based and manifests in installations composed of moving images, photographs, text and sculptures. Anne graduated from the Art Academy in Tromsø with an MA in Contemporary Art in 2020. She received her BA at Valand Academy (Gothenburg, Sweden) and has also undertaken exchange studies at Malmö Art Academy (Sweden).
The exhibition is curated by Inger Emilie Solheim. The exhibition is kindly supported by Norske Kunstforeninger and the Norwegian Arts Council.
